The North Carolina Statewide Pastel Juried Exhibition is an annual collaboration of three pastel societies: The Appalachian Pastel Society (APS), the Pastel Society of North Carolina (PSNC) and the Piedmont Pastel Society (PPS). Our mission is to inspire artists, to enhance the public’s appreciation for the lasting value and beauty of the medium of soft pastels, and to establish North Carolina as an emerging cultural market.

This year 90 artists, submitted paintings to the ninth Annual NC Statewide Juried Pastel Exhibition.  A total of 232 images were submitted and 95 paintings selected by Alain J. Picard for this show.  This online show represents those 95 paintings selected.

The 2020 NC Statewide Team thanks each artist who submitted their work to this exhibition.  You have helped to make this year’s annual show another great success.

Awards will be announced on May 16, 2020.

The Pastel Society of NC will host next year’s show where we look forward to another great show.
