Artist Statement

"Dreams of Narnia" by Kim Long

The photo for Dreams of Narnia was taken on one of Kims outdoor photoshoots. She was taken in by the mere essence of light streaming into the dark deep woods. Back home in her art studio, as the pastel marks were put on paper, Dreams of Narnia became alive. As a young girl Kim was always drawing and painting with acrylics and oil paints. After retiring in 2015 she was introduced to the pastel medium. She fell in love with the many vibrant pastel colors and began to express her child artist feelings and ideas on pastel art paper.
