Artist Statement

"Warm Rock Cold Seas" by Patricia Savage

The water temperature off Appledore island located eight miles off the coast of Portsmouth, New Hampshire remains, at least for this North Carolinian, quite frigid all summer. My husband and I travel to Appledore Island almost every summer, so he can teach an Animal Behavior course and I can sketch and draw. I will watch the locals splash around in the water and then sunbathe on the warm rocks until they get too hot then repeat the process.
