Artist Statement

In October of last year I had the experience of a lifetime when I visited six canyons with my husband in Utah and Arizona.  The first of these was Zion.  When we entered the park I felt as if I was transported to another world.  The majesty of the mountains with their strong light patterns, deep crevices, dramatic movement and a myriad of varied rock surfaces of all colors, took my breath away.  When I saw this mountain I knew instantly I had to paint it.
