Artist Statement

"A Glimpse.  Gone" by Leslie Hudson-Tolles

Several years ago one of my rescue dogs brought me a litter of wild bunnies, one by one. Each one I was able to pry from his jaws, until the 3rd… or the same one the 3rd time. This one had a corner tear on it’s head. I filled the wound with an equine antibiotic topical ointment and closed it with a square of silver duct tape. Then with a prayer for well being I walked it farther into the woods and let it free. Months later a much larger rabbit was caught in my headlights coming up the drive. It froze and in the second before it hopped away I clearly saw it’s duct tape reflected. Just a glimpse. Then gone!
