Artist Statement

"Tidal Flow" by Betty Hendrix

Carolina tidal marshlands are such wonderful subject matter. They are ever-changing abstracts of shapes, patterns, and colors. This one was reflecting a gorgeous blue sky (which is never shown in the painting). There was a beautiful pattern as the water was moving (in or out?); and the wonderful soft tones of the many reeds make for a happy and "feel good" image.
