Artist Statement

"Solitude" by Robbins Richardson

Oftentimes I am a mood painter reflecting wherever I am in that moment. This past fall was too busy for me and I went into 2020 desiring and seeking solitude. Various images from the photo shoots that I do float around in my brain until one comes to the forefront in a specific moment wanting to be evidenced. Such is how “Solitude” came about. Not only was I drawn to the strong diagonals with the lone pelican set into that, but I chose to do it in a square format to further support my feelings to “box” myself in.
